SCULPTRA

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is a biocompatible, biodegradable injectable filler made from poly-L-lactic acid, a synthetic substance that stimulates collagen production in the skin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which provide immediate volume, Sculptra works gradually over a series of treatments to rebuild the skin’s underlying structure and restore facial volume lost due to aging. This process results in a more natural and long-lasting improvement in skin texture and firmness, with effects that can last up to two years or more. Sculptra is particularly effective for treating deeper facial wrinkles, folds, and areas of significant volume loss, offering a subtle and progressive enhancement of facial aesthetics.

About the Procedure

The Sculptra procedure begins with a consultation to assess the patient’s needs and goals. During the treatment, the provider prepares the Sculptra solution by mixing the poly-L-lactic acid powder with sterile water. The skin is then cleansed, and a topical or local anesthetic may be applied to enhance comfort. Using a fine needle, the provider injects the Sculptra solution into the deeper layers of the skin in targeted areas. The injected solution gradually stimulates collagen production, leading to a natural and gradual improvement in skin volume and texture over the following months. The entire procedure typically takes about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the areas being treated.

Benefits

Sculptra offers several benefits for individuals seeking facial rejuvenation. It gradually stimulates the body's own collagen production, resulting in a natural and long-lasting improvement in skin volume, texture, and elasticity. Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate but temporary results, Sculptra works over time to create a more youthful and refreshed appearance that can last up to two years or more. It is particularly effective for addressing deeper facial wrinkles, folds, and areas of significant volume loss, providing subtle and progressive enhancement without the need for surgery.
